Stress Relief Tip 03 April 2009
Here is your Heaven On Earth Stress Relief Tip for this week!
Everybody's talking about taxes right now. If you are one of those lucky people whose taxes are already done, good for you!
If not, here are a few tips to keep you from getting stressed out when doing taxes:
1 – Don't wait until the last minute. If you do, Murphy's Law will go into full effect and you'll have a mad scramble to meet the deadline.
2 – Remember to breathe! When doing a stressful task, you often breathe shallowly which contributes to the tension and discomfort you feel because you just aren't getting enough oxygen into your bloodstream.
3 – Take breaks while you work. Even if you're using a computer program like my husband and I did, it can take several hours to get through all the screens and forms. After an hour you start to lose your ability to focus, and your muscles start to tense up which makes the whole process not only mentally challenging but physically uncomfortable, too. For every hour you work, you should take a five-minute break. Get some exercise by walking around for a couple minutes, and take a mental break by hopping out to YouTube and watching a couple of funny videos because laughter reduces those stress hormones and increases your feel-good hormones.
Relax, get your taxes done, and have a heavenly weekend!

I hear you M! The breathing aspect is SO important and so easy to forget about, when stressed. I have a post on my blog right now about ME time that I think you'll find interesting.
Stop by when you can and have a great day, Hugs, G
Hi G,
You are Right, taking time for yourself is so important, and women often don't. I hope this works out to be a great me-month for you!
